The Trump Administration suggested that the CDC refrain from using 7 specific words when submitting documents for funding else they will not get the funding they request. This ethical and financial blackmail has serious implications..... a furious Mike Kimball details.

Leaders of the Government need to be able to separate the fundamental from the fray. Leaders need to be neutral and have the ability to leave their own personal and religious baggage at the door when entering the house and senate. They need to be able to make the distinction between what is fundamental and a core priority for our country vs what is prejudice, racists, homophobic, anti-muslim, anti women, anti anti anti. Leave your bull shit at home.

The Beasts of Henagar
As a gay man who went to see beauty and the beast I want to share some of my sentiments.
Director of the movie, Bill Condon made a comment that there was a “Gay Moment” in the movie and suggested the charicter LeFou (Gaston’s sidekick) was the one who had it.
Now I saw the movie folks. I don't even know if I even went to see it because i love the movie as much as I went to see it over the uproar it caused. I had to see for myself what the stink was about. And before I share what I believe the “Gay Moment” was… I want to take a minute to discuss all the drama this caused.
A Theatre in Alabama….you know one of those places where their bible is shoved so far up their asses as children that the only thing that comes out of their mouths as adults is psalms…. yeah thats the place! They got wind of this comment and before they could even see the movie they banned it…. sparking a vicious debate about gay characters on television as well as prompting questions around what “a gay moment” is and what we consider censorship material.
This brings me right back to my sentiments about religion. If being gay is against your religion….don’t be gay. Thats one thing. It’s an entirely different thing for you to force your proverbs and psalms down everyone elses throat. If you don't like it….shut up and don't like it. Do you see budhists trying to shove their beliefs down your throat…NO. Jews? No. In fact…the only people I can legitimately compare Christians to these days is ISIS who’d rather cut off your head than see you precutce something other than christianity. The similarities, at least metaphporically, are staggering. Stay the goddamn out of my life. Your religion is not my law.
By the way Russia went out on an all out campaign against the movie too …one lawmaker took the time to pull his face out of his vodka long enough to tell their congress that the movie was “a blatant shameless propaganda of sin”
ahhh but on to the good stuff…..
I saw the movie….ok…with my own green pearly eyes. The character who’s been villianized even mores than gaston is named LeFou. He is a loveable guy, sexually ambiguous, slightly effeminate if you ask me…. and he is like most of the side kicks in any movie made for children. Why? because we LOVE this kind of character. He is able to be justifiably abused by the bad guy because he works for the bad guy. He is goofy, clumsy, and I guess if you go by his flourishes and wrist waves….a little “gay”. Doesn't that describes almost EVERY VILLAINS HELPER IN EVERY ANIMATED MOVIE>>>>EVER
The show stopping scene in mention is the one in which he and some bar patrons in a tavern stroke gaston’s ego by pointing out the traits that he possesses more superiorly thank every other person alove. Vein little narcissist. In the scene he dances around on a table and sings sort of flamboyantly.
Gasp…… was there a gay kiss? Nope
Same sex kiss? nada
A rainbow, a unicorn, glitter..????
So because we have a character who falls into the “stereotype” of what a gay man is in terms of dancing and singing and fun loving….. this not only constituted a GAY MOMENT but also caused a bunch of ignorant uneducated hicks with no exposure to anyhitng other than their bible classes and a couple markers to make a hate sign….. to cause an unbelievable stir over literally NOTHING…..
What about the villain in Minions…..slightly gay, that dope in ice age, gay, and all the other movies that have characters with questionable sexual identities…..
I walked away from this movie Happy that disney is making an attempt…albeit flimsy..
I walked away wondering if this is really what our society is reduced to…
I walked away angry at all the people who throw their religion around as if it is supreme law…. maybe it is for them… and I am supposed to respect that….somehow I cannot because they cant seem to respect me.
We need to start a revolution. Religion is great but those who seek to push it on others should be fined or jailed or improsioned or made example of. Moreover….what the hell kind of religions are people practicee where they think that the way to handle something they deem bad is to act even worse…. is this their loopole for being able to act just as bad if not worse than the people they are condemning. I don't know….last I checked Jesus never taught these lessons…. I have friends and family members who disagree, they feel as though they can bend and thist gods laws into anything that serves them and then in the same breath they hypocritically break the 10 commandments in abundancee…. it really needs to be studied more. It’s evolved int a mental illness.
I walked away from this movie wondering if we need to start recognizing who the real beauties and beasts are in our society. Are they being portrayed accurately?? because to me the people of the LGBTQ community, those of us who live our lives without hurting anyone…simply hoping for love and acceptance, those of us who advocate for others…..and want nothing more than to have a happy healthy prosperous life with the one we love…..we’re the real beauties. The beasts…… well… look no further than Henagar Alabama at the Henagar Drive-In a place where the mere word gay sent them into such an ignorant christian frenzy that they embarrassed themselves nationally when they realized that they brought “hate” into a movie that is all about being kind to other people…… I hope this podcast is their witch with a rose.

Many of my listeners are gay..... and many of them are still in the closet. This podcast is a reminder to them that they are loved. You are loved...you are supported... you are cared for. Come out when you are good and ready. You'll know when it's time. You will. Do your research before coming out....starting here. No one is worth committing suicide for and falling into a state of severe depression over....when it comes to coming out.... here are a few things that helped me along the way!
Here's a playful list of some of the grossest things we do but would never admit to. This is just for a little fun while we're composing our next big podcast..... do you do any of these??
It's not about religious liberty... it's about having an excuse to behave poorly. It's about forcing their beliefs and way of life upon others who do not live like they do. It comes from the religious, the fearful, the extremists..... it comes from people who have no exposure to the real world other than their little corner of the world with a pew and crucifix. It's time to put an end to this...it's time for someone to put together a law that recognizes that we are all different and it is unconstitutional for anyone to force their way of life upon someone else. If we examine the lives of your persecutors what will we find: maybe that they are "sinners" too. Some have had premarital sex, babies out of wedlock, affairs, etc. Yet these same people think it is ok to hand pick what they choose is a "sin" and force the crime and punishment on us. NO. I am not part of your community. I am a tax paying citizen who deserved respect, the right to love and live and pursue happiness. You can not like me but thats the extent of it. You cannot control me or tell me who to love because you don't like it or because it is against your religion.... examine your bible... then examine yourself....not so perfect huh?
Have you ever had one of those bad days that keep getting worse.... here's an example of mine yesterday. Also, lets talk about manners shall we??
Bullies. We need to stop them. The stats on bullying in the LGBTQ community are staggering.... the way to do that? Sticking together, approaching the problem with intellect instead of emotion (which is hard to do), and education...(for parents, teachers, students, bullies as well as their victims.) Bullying is pandemic- whats the cure?
We've covered sweet, we've covered sour..... don't you think it is about time for a little salty? Hehehe. As a thank you and bonus for listening to me ramble I have decided to give you a little tingle in your pants. In the following podcast I have decided to read some of my provocative poetry to you. I have all sorts of poetry in my writing arsenal but I though I needed to sex it up right about now! If you are not into provocative gay sex poetry..... block your ears.... otherwise...get ready for some good vibrations!
The Right to Marry and the Sacriment of Holy Matrimony....TWO VERY DIFFERENT THINGS yet society has them as backed up and confused as Mariah Carey's NYE performance. This confusion extends further than we think. Our country was founded by people who were fleeing religious persecution but somehow we have found ourselves in a situation where a majority of religious people forget that not everyone follows their religion or practices it.... so in an effort to force us into submission they have turned to legislation, There is this mentality of "Well, if we cannot make them stop their sins and follow our God's rules we will have the government do it" This is not talked about often but I truly believe this is a thing....and it is happening at pandemic rates. We need clear lines in our society regarding right and wrong. Just because abortion or being gay or eating shrimp is illegal in your bible, religious circle or culture (I'm willing to bet you have broken at least one of those rules)..... don't hold me to that standard.... I respect your beliefs but the coin has two sides and we must be respectful of the beliefs of others.
Legislation....100% Pure, raw, unabashed hate, vengeance and discrimination. As a good God fearing Catholic boy one of the things I heard on almost a daily basis was: "Vengeance is mine... said the Lord." This was a preachy religious reference used when someone was upset and wanted to get back at their enemy. Like when my brother hid my glasses on me and I paid him back by pretending to give him a hair cut with the buzzer but in reality giving him multiple bald spots as retribution for my missing specs. My mother would always shout that quote... which meant that God and only God had the right to get revenge. (Didn't he get enough revenge when he gave me this gonzo nose? haha). Once again.... when the religious lose one battle they quickly look for alternative ways to make out lives a living hell. It's pure spite and hate and they cannot even see the contradiction in their ways. We won same sex marriage so in an effort to keep the battle going they are now producing these "Religious Liberty" laws which should be more appropriately named the "I understand legislation and how to write and propose a bill therefore I am going to use that to forward my religious agenda and push my religion on other people who don't adhere to, practice it or follow it's rules. This is my way of expressing my unfounded hate for the gays" laws.
We're you surprised with the amount of people who voted for Donald Trump despite ALL the horrible things he did, said and tweeted to people during the campaign? Electing someone with his set of values, principals and ideas on how people should be treated is shocking but it says something about our country. We were desperate for change....desperate. Therefore, with a little name calling, lies, xenophobia, sexism, racism, homophobia, islamophobia, propaganda, misogyny, fraud and a little help from Russia and it's hackers this birther, bully, cheater and demagogue....he won. Our president is all of these things and we elected him for ALL the WRONG reasons....so now we pay.
Now as if all of the above isn't enough to make you sick to your stomach....Donald Trump isn't the biggest threat.... by a mile.... It's vice president Pence we should be worried about. This man....is scary. SCARY. At least Donald trump pretends to want to support us. He doesn't seem hell bent on our death and demise....... but Pence. In my opinion he is legit sick. His hateful, ignorant, extremist views are the foundation for truly horrible things to grow in our country. This podcast delves into some of his greatest accomplishments in hate.
On a less serious note I make sure everyone in the world knows that I am obsessed with Mariah Carey. She is the Queen of Christmas, Queen of the 90's, a 30+ year vet of the music biz and has a rabid following of "lambs" as she calls her fans. They comprise a family (The Lambily) that insist that the Mariah's music is the soundtrack to their lives. While Mariah Carey might come off as an arrogant, self-absorbed diva...like I do..... there's much more to this Huffington, New York native. She is as insecure as she is iconic, she is as talented as she is legendary. Within her first few years in the industry Mariah has already broken many barriers...maybe even the sound barrier. During this podcast I gush about her.....
Lonely? Need a friend or companion? Have you considered a puppy? While training can be an initial obstacle the rewards that come with being the proud mommy or daddy to a puppy are innumerable. In this episode I gush about my dog and discuss just a few of the many benefits of being a dog owner.
While same sex marriage was legalized in 2015, the LGBTQI community took some pretty rough hits in 2016. (You know what I'm talking about.) Consequently, the world will be much different for us all in 2017.
This podcast is "One Gay Guy's" attempt at making a difference for all of us. Some listeners might be out there lonely because they have finally come to terms with their sexuality but worry that their family and social circle won't be able to. Some listeners don't know how to come out. Others have been ostracized and isolated to the point of depression...pondering suicide. I have been there. I know what all of these feelings are like. You are not alone in this world.
This podcast is designed to playfully discuss issues relevant to the LGBTQI etc community. We will discuss culture, art, music, politics, religion and a variety of other topics. As beginners we are starting bare bones here so it is our hope that you will also have the opportunity to watch us grow from a baby podcast-ling to a full blown adult, strong, fully loaded podcast. Along the way we hope to keep you company, keep you entertained, inspired, and on your toes when it comes to advocacy.
Can One Gay Guy change the world? Well I look at it like this.... if I can help a baby gay feel more comfy in his or her skin.....if I can ease someone through the coming out process, if I can take away your loneliness on your drive to work or while you are trying to fall asleep at night.....mission accomplished. So imagine what we can all do if we worked together.....
